The best comedy pod casts pt I

Doug Loves Movies Pod CastWhen fresh stand up releases are few and far between, a good pod cast can be just the right thing to spruce up a commute or workday.

Here are four of my favorites to get you started:

Nerdist Pod Cast
Host Chris Hardwick chats with different guests about their comedy background and the scene in general. Guests include big names like Bill Maher, Drew Carey, Ray Romano, “Weird” Al and fan favorites like Paul F. Tompkins and Jim Gaffigan. I think I been through the entire, quite extensive library, and it’s one of my first stops when I need a good pod cast.

Pod-F-Tompkast
This is made by one of my favorite stand ups, Paul F. Tompkins, and I make sure to check all episodes. There are 5 episodes out and a new one been appearing monthly. Its a mix of monologue, conversations and prepared theatrical bits. The dialogs are very funny, but I especially love the monologues. Even when reading his show dates he gets jokes in there.

Another Comedy Show
Host Max Barth, usually accompanied by Ryan Merriam, are joined by guests to talk about everything comedy related. Guests include Anthony Jeselnik and Matt McCarthy. The guys create a good atmosphere and the interviews are funny and interesting.

Doug Loves Movies
Hosted by my favorite stoner, Doug Benson. The guy that made the great weed documentary: “Super High Me”. Props! This is hosted in front of a live audience and usually 3 guests and Doug talking, taking questions from the audience. Guests like Patton Oswalt, Joe Rogan and even a visit from John Lithgow aka the Trinity Killer! I haven’t heard all episodes, but I’m working on it.
